A big number of installers resp. setup programs are using the Windows Installer. Even though some installers are writing a proper log file, which you can consult in case of an install issue, many don't.

In case you have an issue with an installer, you have the ability to enable logging.

To enable Windows Installer logging, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the following registry file and place it onto your Cameyo server where you are having the installation issues
    Enable Installer Logging.reg
  2. Double click the file in order to write the settings to the registry and confirm the messages
  3. Start your installation again
  4. You will find the log file in the users TEMP folder
  5. Open Windows Explorer and go to %TEMP%

 

To disable Windows Installer logging after troubleshooting follow these steps:

  1. Download the following registry file and place it onto your Cameyo server where you are having the installation issues

  2. Double click the file in order to write the settings to the registry and confirm the messages
